我们目前正在全校范围内实施一个分级阅读计划，我们会要求学生在学术课之外，每周阅读一本短篇书籍。我们会根据每位学生当前的英语水平，为他们提供相应的书籍选择，希望他们随着时间的推移，最终能够逐步提高英语及阅读水平，并能轻松的阅读未经简化的材料。在晚自习时间段里，学生们将一起每周一次地深入讨论、分析、考查这些书籍内容，同时，我将参与指导整个讨论过程，学生们会被鼓励要求独立自主地推进这项阅读计划，并为自己的英语能力负责。

本次阅读计划的目的不只是提高学生的阅读能力，更重要的是提高他们的整体英语水平。泛读在语言学习中的价值是相当大的。研究表明，广泛阅读外语可以使你的阅读速度更快、更流畅，还能大大提高词汇量和写作技巧。

培养学生的阅读习惯对提高他们的终身学习成果和确保未来学业成功至关重要。

Hi everybody!

Greetings from the ESL team at Lucton. It’s an exciting time to be in contact with you.

We are currently implementing a whole school graded reading program where students will be required to read one short book per week that is outside of their academic studies. Students will be provided with books based on their current English level, with the idea being that they will progress through the levels over time and eventually read unsimplified materials with ease. These books will then be discussed, analyzed and examined in more detail during an evening prep session on a weekly basis. The discussion sessions will be supervised by myself, however, students will be encouraged to facilitate this independently and take responsibility for their own language learning.

The aim of this programme is not only to improve the reading proficiency amongst our students but to raise their overall English level. The value of extensive reading in language learning is considerable. Research shows that reading extensively in a foreign language can result in faster, more fluent reading in addition to vast improvements in vocabulary acquisition and writing skills.

Establishing reading habits in our students is essential with regards to improving their lifelong learning outcomes and helping to ensure future academic success.
