Design and technology (D&T) is a subject providing students a safe and resilient environment for the purpose of developing independent thinking and problem-solving skills. Through this subject, students are expected to produce practical products for genuinely solving problems and meet specific requirements by developing own knowledge hierarchy and thinking skills.

DT课

一直以来，莱克顿的DT课都深受学生及家长们的喜爱，配以教室内丰富的教学器材和各种机械工具，充分满足了IGCES和A Level的课程要求，其特殊性也不言而喻。DT课程将通过各种不同的项目培养学生设计及技术上的知识技能，将想象力落实到行动上。根据IGCSE和A Level的教学大纲，学生们会学习一些基础的木工操作，和制作简单的金属制品。目前10年级的学生已经进行了近一年的学习，他们在创作过程中获得了成就感和自信心，也拓宽了设计视野。

In Lucton, D&T has been a popular subject for both students and parents. The classroom is equipped with all kinds of mechanical devices for manufacture, including 3D printer and laser cutting machine, all of which are particularly meet the requirement for IGCSE and A Level. Through the whole-year studying, Y10 students have achieved a lot and gained confidence through a wide range of projects.

Paul Moffat先生

在莱克顿，Paul Moffat先生作为我们的设计与技术课程老师，一直深受学生们的爱戴。走在校园里，常看见他往返于A、C栋教学楼，一头梳理整齐的银发和举手投足间的气质，有着英国传统绅士的风采。细致、贴心、有条不紊的教学风格让他成为了最受学生们欢迎的老师之一。他有着25余年的教学经验。起初，在他拿到工业设计学士(荣誉)学位后，他选择在纽卡斯尔泰恩河的BUMA工程公司担任设计工程师，时间长达五年。在诺森比亚大学得到PGCE(教育研究生证书)后，他开始在英格兰的一所学校任教。Moffat先生在来到莱克顿之前曾担任过各种职务，*括技术总监和助理校长。现在是他**次在海外教学，凭借其超过25年的教学经验，他很期待这次挑战，希望能够帮助学生们激发他们**的潜能。

Mr. Paul Moffat as our D&T teacher, has over twenty-five years teaching experience. After completing a BA(Hons) degree in Industrial Design, he worked for five years as a Design Engineer at BUMA Engineering in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne. He then completed a PGCE at North Umbria University before taking a position at a school of England. During that period, Mr. Moffat held a variety of roles including Director of Technology and Assistant Head teacher before leaving to work at Lucton. This is Paul’s fist overseas post. With over twenty-five years teaching experience he is looking forward to challenging its pupils and encouraging them to perform to the best of their ability.
