上海莱克顿学校这几个星期的设计工艺课上,三名十一年级的学生,李同学、张同学和张同学已经开始为期末考试作业做准备了。从去年11月开始,他们一直在做这项会占总分50%的作业。虽然时间不多,但他们十分努力,并利用周二、周六上午的时间参加额外的课程,以确保能在5月8日的截止日期前完成。他们每人必须制作一份A3格式的ppt,长达20至30页,内容*括他们的研究、设计和成品制作过程的记录,同时,也要交上他们所做的成品。
设计工艺课
In the class of Design & Technology, Year 11 students, Tina, Andy and Cathy are coming to the end of their course and are nearly ready to submit their examination coursework.
From November they have been working on a project that accounts for 50% of their qualification. They have worked hard to produce this work in a short amount of time, attending extra classes on Tuesday mornings and Saturday mornings to ensure they have met the deadline of the 8th May.
They each have to produce an A3 PowerPoint, 20 – 30 pages long which includes their research, design work and a record of the manufacture of their final prototype. They also have to produce a working prototype of their chosen design.

Here is a brief introduction to each pupil’s project
张同学提出了一系列让旅行变得更舒适的设计理念。于是,她迸发出许多小创意,目的是让人们在吃饭、写作、阅读和用电子设备的时候更方便。她的模型是由装饰板制成的,里面有两个储物匣和一个平整的**区,还有一个用来储存和操作iPad等设备的区域。这个“旅行箱”重量轻,易于储存和携带。据张雯祺估计,这款产品售价约为200元。
Cathy chose a design brief which set her the task of making travelling more comfortable. She came up with a range of design ideas based around making it easier to carry out tasks such as eating, writing, reading, and using an electronic device. The prototype is made from plywood and includes two storage trays and a flat working surface as well as an area to store and operate a device such as an iPad. The ‘travel box’ is lightweight, easy to store and easy to carry. She has estimated that the product would cost about RMB 200 Yuan to buy.

除了使用手工和机床,张同学还在CAD软件上为她的箱子设计了把手,并在3D打印机上打印出来。
As well as using hand and machine tools, Cathy has designed the handles for her box on CAD software and printed them on a 3D Printer.
根据李同学的设计纲要,她想要设计出一本立体书。每当学校举行活动,邀请家长来参加时,就可以发给家长们提高他们的体验度。这本立体书中含有一系列卡片,并且可以自动翻页,从而可以真正地体现莱克顿学生丰富的生活,例如体育运动、课外课程以及用餐。

Tina’s brief asked her to design a product to improve the experience by producing a ‘pop-up-book’ for a festival that could be held at Lucton and would be used to provide parents and potential parents. Her book includes a range of card mechanisms that really bring the activities students to take part in at Lucton to life including sports, CCA and dining.
根据张同学的设计纲要,他也要制作一本“立体书”。和李同学不同的是,他希望努力创作出一系列既能吸引眼球、又能提供原创图形信息的立体书。当孩子们参观动物园时候,能为他们讲解濒危动物。
Andy chose a brief that asked him to design a product be used to educate young children about endangered animals during their visit to the zoo. Andy, like Tina, chose to produce a ‘pop-up-book’ and he has worked hard to produce a range of original graphic ideas that are both eye-catching and informative.
