As a big fan of singing and a singer who has been learning vocal music for two years, joining the chorus and performing in the school singing festival can be an inspirational activity for me to do. As members of the chorus, we practice and sing a lot of songs including both English songs and Chinese songs. Anytime there is a chance to participate in the performance on the stage, I am always willing to be part of it.

In the Christmas Gala that just ended, we chose tosing a holy English song called Silent Night for the occasion. However, the monotonous performances of the choir used to send most of the audience to sleep, so I proposedthe idea this time that we could add a funny comic character to enliven the atmosphere of our performance. My teammates were all agreed with my idea, but none of them was willing to take the duty of acting the character. As a result, I took up this tough task which was dressing up as Santa Claus and throwing candies to the audience under the stage. To achieve the ultimate goal of gingering the spectators up, my role would be really important. Therefore, I practiced my movement and lines constantly in the rehearsals in order to make sure my acting would go well with the song. Eventually, on the stage, everything went well as we expected, and the performance was a conspicuous success. We got the applause we deserved. At that time, I was just so glad that our great effort was worthy to spend and we did a good job on the big day.

Through this successful performance, I realize that innovation of performance is the key to attracting the audience. I look forward to working with other hard-working choir members to come up with more creative ideas in the future.
