Joey (Junior-C)

Rose(Junior-B)

Bonnie (Pre 2B)

On Mar. 22, I joined college fair held by our school.

To be honest, it really provided me a great deal of assistance about American universities by front to front talking with the admission officers. Each university had a brief introduction; thus we contacted American universities with zero contact.

After a series of schools’ speeches, a professor from New York University gave us a splendid lecture about foundational stuff of economy. He mentioned four “p” which are the four bases of the market economy.

After talking about the definition of the market economy, the professor invited grade-ten students and junior students to consist two teams to create our own brands and try to sell the products to the utmost as we could which included me.

Initially, we had a draw lots stuff to choose what kind of product we were going to establish a brand based on; me, as the leader of the grade-ten team, chose to set up a recency shoe-brand and in the other hand, the junior team were coerced to choose to make a clothing brand. Afterwards, both teams were asked to design a logo for own brands.

After all of these setup procedures, the leaders of each group were asked to go onto the stage to introduce each brand and draw the logo on the blackboard. For the name of our brand, we decided to call it “Oxford’. After a brief introduction of the brands, each group sent a consumer to identify the beneficiary and depict about the experience of using the products. Our “actor”, also my friend, Chris went onto the podium and narrated about how she impressed her college admissions officer by her charisma by means of wearing our Oxford shoes.

Finally, the professor figured out the best team by publishing an opinion poll, and the junior team won the contest. To be fair, I was really impressed by the actor from junior grade, but indeed our team either had a very brilliant performance.

All in all, this experience really aids me plenty of comprehending about American universities by face to face contacting with the admission officers. Undeniably it was an unforgettable lecture, especially from the professor of NYU, through his speech, I’ve to say that I gradually became interested in economics which also reflects the erudite of the professor and his abundant teaching experience.

College Fair
