专业概况

在这里学什么？ This unique single honours course focuses specifically on the intersection of language and literature. As well as having access to a range of literature and linguistics modules, you will study dedicated modules that explicitly explore the relationship between literature and language. You’ll study literary texts (poetry, prose, theatre, film and television) alongside non-literary texts (language of the media, advertising and political speeches) to explore topics such as: why audiences find some styles of writing particularly persuasive; the methods authors use to make their works feel 'realistic'; and how we can use linguistic techniques to analyse literary language.Our world-leading research, active student community and civic ethos makes Sheffield one of the world's most exciting places to study English. We have the largest group of researchers in the UK working on the interface of language and literature, and this research will inform the content of the modules you will study. Our academic staff are also passionate, dedicated teachers who work tirelessly to ensure their students are inspired.The academic aptitude and practical skills you will develop throughout your degree will give you a huge range of career options after university. We would still require AAB from your A levels which must include Maths.
