专业概况

Medical tests are critical to the accurate detection, diagnosis and treatment of diseases, and so are the scientists who analyze and interpret those tests in the lab. A degree in biomedical sciences prepares these analysts, and is ideal for students who enjoy science and its practical Applications in healthcare or research settings.

Students in the Biomedical Sciences major are awarded a Bachelor of Science degree upon completion of all requirements. Students choose from one of the following seven areas or submajors:

• Medical Laboratory Science
• Biomedical Science
• Cytotechnology
• Radiologic Technology
• Diagnostic Medical Sonography
• Diagnostic Imaging (degree completion program)
• Health Science (degree completion program)
• Public Health Microbiology

The Biomedical Sciences: Health Sciences submajor offers students an opportunity to build on completed coursework and to develop or strengthen skills in critical thinking, problem-solving, information literacy, informatics, management, and education in the health professions. Undergraduate certificates related to disability, informatics, management, and healthcare administration as well as options in health and wellness are available.
