Earn the graduate degree you need and the skills to advance your career with a Master of Science in Accounting from Western New England University. This 30-credit online program is excellent preparation for the CPA exam, especially for Massachusetts and Connecticut. With four 11-week terms per academic year, the program can be completed in as little as one year.

The Master of Science in Accounting will enable you to satisfy the requirements to become a CPA and take the exam in Connecticut or Massachusetts. You will also gain skills in planning, controlling, evaluation, and analysis valued in the profession. This program provides a challenging academic environment that will extend and refine your knowledge of business and accounting through study, experiential exercises, and assessment performance.

The MS in Accounting consists of three areas: foundation courses, which are completed at the undergraduate level; core courses; and elective courses. The 9-credit Forensic Accounting/Fraud Investigation concentration provides an important area of specialization for accountants looking to expand career opportunities in what has been called the fastest-growing area of accounting. Leveraging the unique expertise of the University's accounting and business law faculty, the program will provide advanced training for accountants in fraud investigation accounting, forensic accounting, and litigation support.

Concentration Description

The Forensic Accounting and Fraud Investigation concentration offers additional coursework in fraud investigation accounting, forensic accounting, and litigation support.

In addition to the MS in Accounting program leaning goals, this concentration has the following learning goals:

Demonstrate an understanding of the accounting and legal fundamentals of forensic accounting and fraud investigation. Apply the concepts, tools, and techniques employed in financial investigation, including the role of the forensic accountant in litigation support. Learn the concepts and techniques employed in financial investigations.

Through this online classroom you will be able to view lectures, complete and submit assignments, participate in discussions with classmates, and communicate directly with your professors. This online learning model allows you to complete classwork on your own time, wherever you are.

Note: International students who have been admitted for Fall 2020 and are unable to travel to the US may defer their admission to Spring 2021.
