嘘~听说上海新和中学国际部来了一群外国人?他们来是干什么的呢?请看以下报道:
Dr. Zach Dresser, Director of Global Studies at North Cross School, brought four students from NCS to visit NCXH this week. Seniors Ashtyn Gerhart, Jarion Jenkins-Saunders, Caroline McGimsey and Helen Schmedtje spent their spring break exploring Shanghai, Hangzhou, Suzhou, and especially NCXH.

"I enjoyed seeing the way our students interacted with their Chinese peers -- on the basketball court, in class, out in Shanghai," Zach said. "They really seemed to connect very well, and that was the point of the trip."
The tour began with Emily Fang leading the group to get custom-tailored clothing at a fabric market. They ate famous dumplings at Naxiang Restaurant and then toured the Yu garden. After seeing Chinese art at the Shanghai Museum, seniors Lizzy Liu and Jenny Mao selected a Szechuan restaurant for dinner. Making friends all day were Sharon and Daisy from grade 9, class 1.

Additionally, math teacher Mike Koss accompanied the group for the duration, which ended with a concert by Urna, a Mongolian singer. Shinnel Copeland joined the group for dinner and concert, while Nicki Dabney attended the concert. All in all, 14 people helped the Americans enjoy their first full day in Shanghai.

On Sunday, the group took a fast train to Hangzhou to see the famous West Lake and Lingyin Temple. Christina from grade 11 helped show the group her hometown. Helen even took the opportunity to take photos of a tea field for her senior speech.

But the best was yet to come for the students. On Monday, they began to take classes in Chinese from Alice Tong and even from Ms. Dabney on Wednesday. Later that night, some grade 12 Jenny, Lizzy and Kevin Huang escorted the Americans on their own tour of Shanghai, eating hot pot, singing karaoke, and taking late-night pictures on the Bund.

"I think that getting to know the students will be the most memorable experience from this trip," Helen said, "especially when we went out and sang karaoke."
That same day, the students jumped into clubs - especially the DIY Club - and then played sports with badminton and basketball teams.
"Playing a lot of basketball with the guys has been a lot of fun," Jarion said. "I don't think I played that well, but they made it great."
In addition to Chinese classes every morning, the students spent mornings taking notes in classes of all levels, seeing the whole progression of high school education.
"I like what it felt like to go to a school in a different," Caroline said. "It's a lot tougher than U.S. education, especially physics classes. We were lost in the AP Physics class with Mr. Li."
The students finished their vacation with two nights in the homes of host families: Kevin from grade 12, Kylin and Xenia from grade 11 took in the Americans.
"I thought it was interesting to see how kids live halfway across the world," Ashtyn said.
