记2017年上海新和中学国际部SSTTS英语演讲展示赛

On June 4th, Lydia and Emily, on behalf of North Cross Xinhe School, participated in an English speech contest in Shanghai Branch of Chinese Academy of Science. A group of our NCXH students went to support them along with Ms Zhu and Dr. Koss, who was the advisor of Emily and Lydia.

Our contestants were well prepared, and both delivered a great speech. They looked very calm and confident. Anxiety or nervousness was not a problem to them at all. Lydia talked about Khan Academy where students can have access to online classes, and she also shared how much she had learned from her previous experience with taking online classes. In Emily’s speech, sheproposed that when we are enjoying the positive benefits science and technology have brought to our life, restrictions are also needed because of the adverse effect Science and Technology have had on our life by sharing an illustrating example of her own family experience.

I liked both Lydia's and Emily's presentations. I was very proud to be there in the audience and witness their great performance at the speech contest. I believe both the students and the school will benefit a lot from this experience in many different ways, and I hope more NCXH students will present themselves in this kind of competition which provides opportunity necessary to build up our confidence, logical thinking, and language skill.
