专业概况

在这里学什么？ Physics at Sheffield gives you hands-on experience working with leading academics on real research projects. This course gives you a grounding in the fundamentals, with a focus on medical applications such as ECG, X-ray technology and magnetic resonance imaging.The medical physics modules are taught by a specialist group in the Department of Cardiovascular Science, which provides day-to-day clinical services to the NHS. As part of the course, you’ll go on a placement with a practising medical physicist or engineer.There are plenty of opportunities for fieldwork: investigating dark matter 1km underground at Boulby Mine, or 2,400m above sea level at an observatory in the Canary Islands. We also send students to CERN in Geneva, for work placements and visits.The course comes with a built-in insurance offer: if you firmly accept (as your first choice) an offer of place on the MPhys, but your A Level grades are AAB, you’re guaranteed a place on the three-year BSc.Many of our graduates become research scientists in academia and industry. Others go into aerospace, telecommunications, defence and energy. Employers include Ernst & Young, BAE Systems, Rolls-Royce, Toshiba and the Home Office.

We would still require AAB from your A levels which must include Maths.
