专业概况

在这里学什么？ This combination of subjects gives you a grounding in the fundamentals of physics and explores the workings of the universe, from our solar system to distant galaxies. You’ll spend time in our astronomy laboratory, using our robotic telescope to generate your own data. You’ll learn how to analyse data, and how to present your results.Physics at Sheffield gives you hands-on experience working with leading academics on real research projects. And there are plenty of opportunities for fieldwork: investigating dark matter 1km underground at Boulby Mine, or 2,400m above sea level at an observatory in the Canary Islands. We also send students to CERN in Geneva, for work placements and visits.You’ll spend your third year studying physics at a university in Australia, Canada, Hong Kong, New Zealand or the USA. The experience of living and studying in another culture gives you an edge in the jobs market, particularly if you want an international career.Many of our graduates become research scientists in academia and industry. Others go into aerospace, telecommunications, defence and energy. Employers include Ernst & Young, BAE Systems, Rolls-Royce, Toshiba and the Home Office.The course comes with a built-in insurance offer: if you firmly accept (as your first choice) an offer of place on the MPhys, but your A Level grades are AAB, you’re guaranteed a place on the three-year BSc.

为来自中国的学生设计 including Mathematics and a scienceIf you are not taking Physics A level and are passionate about studying BEng Aerospace Engineering, find out about our pre-sessional Faculty of Engineering Physics Pathway programme. We would still require AAB from your A levels which must include Maths. Please note that this is only available to applicants who do not require a Tier 4 visa to study in the UK.
