专业概况

A Bachelor of Arts encourages students to become informed and engaged thinkers and citizens. Throughout your studies you will have the opportunity to develop a deep understanding of the world around you. You will join our community of learners and engage creatively and confidently with new ideas. You will build expertise in at least two areas of study, which will give you the ability to think laterally and collaboratively, and you will gain essential skills in communication, research, analysis, and problem-solving and become an expert in critical, creative, and strategic thinking. It is this combination of knowledge and skills that will make you invaluable in the workplaces of the future.

All disciplines in Deakin’s Bachelor of Arts are taught through a combination of theoretical and applied learning, with many areas of study offering work placements. You also have the option to study abroad for a trimester, undertake an international study tour, or complete an internship as part of your course, allowing you to gain a competitive edge in your chosen career path.

To qualify for the award of Bachelor of Arts, students must complete 24 credit points

Overview - Education

Units in the Bachelor of Arts - Education Major are designed to provide you with skills and insights to be able to leverage your degree to achieve employment in a broad range of education related fields and organisations. You will learn about educating children, young people and adults in formal and informal contexts. The BA Ed Major will not provide you with accreditation for teaching in schools, but will provide you with a solid grounding should you wish undertake an accredited initial teacher program after completing your BA. Some units may be credited toward these postgraduate studies.

The Bachelor of Arts develops important and transferable career skills, making you highly employable within a wide range of industries. The broad range of disciplines also allows you to follow your passions, study new and exciting areas, which engenders a lifelong love of learning, highly valued by employers.

An arts degree provides skills for a wide range of careers. Graduates may find careers in international relations, journalism, advertising, media, photography, multimedia, publishing, public relations, marketing, personnel and industrial relations, government, policy development, research, business, finance, community services, ethnic affairs, social work, education, policing, and performing and visual arts.

These outcomes mean that regardless of the Deakin course you undertake, you can rest assured your degree will teach you the skills and professional attributes that employers value. 为来自中国的学生设计 Entry for applicants with previous Tertiary, VET, life or work experience will be based on their performance in: a Certificate IV in a related discipline OR a Diploma in any discipline or 50% completion of a Diploma in a related discipline OR successful completion of relevant study at an accredited higher education institution equivalent to at least two Deakin University units OR other evidence of academic capability judged to be equivalent for example relevant work or life experience. Other English Language Requirements accepted: IELTS: Overall 6.0, no band less than 6.0; TOEFL (PBT) score of 550 Writing 4.5; TOEFL Internet Based: 65 Writing 21; CPE: 169 no band less than 169; CAE: 169 no band less than 169; PTE: 52-57 No less than 50 in each skill.
