专业概况

A Bachelor of Arts encourages students to become informed and engaged thinkers and citizens. Throughout your studies you will have the opportunity to develop a deep understanding of the world around you. You will join our community of learners and engage creatively and confidently with new ideas. You will build expertise in at least two areas of study, which will give you the ability to think laterally and collaboratively, and you will gain essential skills in communication, research, analysis, and problem-solving and become an expert in critical, creative, and strategic thinking. It is this combination of knowledge and skills that will make you invaluable in the workplaces of the future.

All disciplines in Deakin’s Bachelor of Arts are taught through a combination of theoretical and applied learning, with many areas of study offering work placements. You also have the option to study abroad for a trimester, undertake an international study tour, or complete an internship as part of your course, allowing you to gain a competitive edge in your chosen career path.

Course structure

To qualify for the award of Bachelor of Arts, students must complete 24 credit points.

Overview - Language and culture studies

Develop your linguistic skills in Arabic, Chinese or Indonesian, but also gain essential cultural, historical and social perspectives.

Career outcomes

Careers in this field include work in the communications industry, community and government organisations, community health organisations, the education sector, ethnic affairs associations, foreign affairs departments, multicultural organisations, tourism associations and translation services.
