专业概况

Deakin is one of Australia's foremost universities in the delivery of sports courses. The Bachelor of Sport Development draws on streams of study to build an understanding of sport systems, programs and pathways, contemporary health and community development approaches, and the organisation, management and governance of sport organisations. You'll learn how to develop coaching programs and sport development philosophies, and examine theoretical aspects of the science of coaching and how sport is used as a vital tool for development. You'll undertake analyses on agencies and organisations within the sports industry; at the same time examining and developing skills utilised by professional sport managers.

Course structure

To complete the Bachelor of Sport Development, students must attain a total of 24 credit points. Most units (think of units as 'subjects') are equal to 1 credit point.

The 24 credit points include 10 credit points of Business and Law core units, 10 credit points of Faculty of Health core units, one zero credit point safety induction unit and 4 credit points of elective units. Most students choose to study 4 units per trimester, and usually undertake 2 trimesters each year.

Career outcomes

The Bachelor of Sport Development prepares students for careers in coaching, the leisure industry, and sports science and in the field of community sports development.

为来自中国的学生设计 Entry for applicants with previous Tertiary, VET, life or work experience will be based on their performance in: a Certificate IV in a related discipline OR a Diploma in any discipline or 50% completion of a Diploma in a related discipline OR successful completion of relevant study at an accredited higher education institution equivalent to at least two Deakin University units OR other evidence of academic capability judged to be equivalent for example relevant work or life experience. Other English Language Requirements accepted: IELTS: Overall 6.0, no band less than 6.0; TOEFL (PBT) score of 550 Writing 4.5; TOEFL Internet Based: 65 Writing 21; CPE: 169 no band less than 169; CAE: 169 no band less than 169; PTE: 52-57 No less than 50 in each skill.
