专业概况

在这里学什么？

The MLIS/MA History Coordinated Degree Program prepares students for positions in large libraries, archives, historical agencies, and fields related to digital history. With an increasing number of institutions seeking professionals with academic backgrounds in more than one field, a coordinated degree can give graduates an advantage in the job market.

Minimum degree requirement is 30 graduate credits. Course distribution requirements are the same as those for Option A and B above, but 3 of the elective credits for Option A and 6 of the elective credits for Option B can be selected from:

InfoSt 650 – Introduction to Modern Archives Administration

InfoSt 850 – Seminar in Modern Archives Administration

InfoSt 752 – Archival Outreach: Programs and Services

InfoSt 750 – Arrangement and Description in Archives

InfoSt 759 – Fieldwork in Archives and Manuscripts

For both Option A and Option B 24 credits must be taken in History graduate courses.

为来自中国的学生设计 Applicants for admission to the UWM Graduate School must have the following: A baccalaureate degree or its equivalent as determined by the UWM Centre on International Education, from a regionally accredited institution, completed before the first term of enrolment in the Graduate School. Students applying to approved integrated bachelor’s/master’s programs are exempt from this requirement, A minimum cumulative undergraduate grade point average (GPA) of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale, or an equivalent measure on a grading system that does not use a 4.0 scale. TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) results with a minimum required score of 79 on the Internet-based TOEFL (IBT) and a minimum recommended sub-score of 18 in each skill). IELTS (International English Language Testing System) results with a minimum required score of 6.5, with minimum recommended sub-score of 6.0 in each skill.
