Student learning is measured more than ever before, and that means that the education field needs professionals who have expertise in educational statistics and measurement.

UWM’s Department of Educational Psychology offers a few options for students who are interested in specializing in educational statistics and measurement:

Master’s Degree

This program will provide you with the knowledge necessary to execute research and evaluate and critique existing research a valuable asset whether you’re planning to put your skills to use in the workforce right away or go on to doctoral studies.

Courses in Educational Statistics and Measurement expose you to the general principles of inferential statistics, research methodology and experimental design, psychometrics, and categorical and qualitative research methods.

Students are required to complete 30 credits for the master’s degree. You must complete 12 credits of core courses, which include 624, 724, 720, and 728; 6 credits in Learning and Development; and 12 elective credits, 6 of which must be in Educational Statistics and Measurement. Your program of study is developed in consultation with your assigned advisor. A full-time student can typically complete the program in two years.

为来自中国的学生设计 Applicants for admission to the UWM Graduate School must have the following: A baccalaureate degree or its equivalent as determined by the UWM Centre on International Education, from a regionally accredited institution, completed before the first term of enrolment in the Graduate School. Students applying to approved integrated bachelor’s/master’s programs are exempt from this requirement, A minimum cumulative undergraduate grade point average (GPA) of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale, or an equivalent measure on a grading system that does not use a 4.0 scale. TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) results with a minimum required score of 79 on the Internet-based TOEFL (IBT) and a minimum recommended sub-score of 18 in each skill). IELTS (International English Language Testing System) results with a minimum required score of 6.5, with minimum recommended sub-score of 6.0 in each skill.
