The need for highly trained campus public safety leaders at our nation’s 7,200+ colleges and universities has never been greater. The increased threat of international and domestic terrorism, regulatory compliance requirements, and important concerns such as substance abuse and sexual/relationship violence demands that campus public safety professionals demonstrate a high degree of expertise, insight, and leadership.

New England College’s MS in Campus Public Safety Administration (MS-CPSA) is the only program of its kind in the United States:

More focused and comprehensive than a certificate program or concentration, the MS-CPSA prepares exceptional campus safety practitioners to be leaders in the field The 37-credit program includes the option of a “prior learning assessment” component for those who have undergone specific training related to the field of study, and can be completed in as little as 12 months It’s an innovative program that features the accessibility of online with hands-on learning for individuals seeking to advance in this dynamic, critical field The program integrates a variety of proven learning methods, including case studies as well as problem-based, project-based, and collaborative learning

Campus Public Safety Administration: What You’ll Learn

The MS-CPSA helps you develop a comprehensive understanding of the administration of campus public safety at both public and private colleges and universities. In collaboration with D. Stafford & Associates, a leading authority in campus public safety, New England College has created an incomparable course of study led by faculty who are highly experienced, practice-based professionals.

You will explore critical issues affecting professional practice, including:

More specifically, you will be prepared as a campus public safety professional to:

• Employ effective strategies for ensuring safety and security on campus
• Successfully plan for and manage crises and emergencies on college and university campuses
• Advocate for campus compliance with federal laws and regulations such as the Clery Act and Title IX
• Develop and hone personal and organizational leadership skills
• Apply administrative, leadership, and management methods to campus safety practice
• Make data-informed decisions and recommendations related to professional practice
• Develop skills and knowledge required to work with diverse individuals and organizations and foster inclusive communities
• Identify and describe laws, regulations, and legal issues pertinent to campus safety administration
