专业概况

SVSU's Nursing program is where compassion meets proficiency as students learn how to provide diligent care and encouragement to their patients, families and community. Students in the major grow together as an academic cohort while experiencing a rigorous nursing curriculum through simulation labs, clinical experience, internships and course work. Led by esteemed faculty in state-of-the-art simulation laboratories, students build up their skillset by applying nursing care to a wide variety of high fidelity mannequins. Coupled with new professional connections and a desire to learn, both in and out of the classroom, students are provided with the necessary relationship, communication and advocacy tools to better serve them and others in their future careers. As a cardinal, students will inspire the patients and families within their care all while growing within the embrace of the community that they serve.

SVSU’s Nursing program builds on a strong foundation in chemistry, biology and statistics with an emphasis on higher level nursing courses after the second year. Students will also experience clinical and integration courses to teach them how to build upon their knowledge and skills in real-world settings. In later semesters, simulation is integrated into the topics covered each week to give students the opportunity to practice their nursing skills in a safe environment and on a wide variety of high fidelity mannequins.
