专业概况

在这里学什么？

Students in the Elementary Education program are trained to be enthusiastic, passionate and supportive of all young minds. This program focuses on building relationships within the classroom and exploring a combination of well-developed experiences, both via observing talented teachers and actively establishing skills to help guide tomorrow's leaders. All Elementary Education majors are able to pursue their degree in one of two ways: Whether it be earning a double major in education and a specific content area (integrated science, language arts, social studies, etc.) or completing a double major in education and a comprehensive content area, with a focus on a specialty (early childhood education, special education, etc.). With SVSU's low student-to-faculty ratio and special emphasis on equipping educators with extra field placement hours—graduates are uniquely qualified to enter today's highly competitive job market. Through the pursuit of an education degree at SVSU, students don't just transform children into doers and thinkers—they teach them to believe in themselves and in their dreams.

At SVSU, all Elementary Education majors can pursue their degree in one of two ways:

Earn a double major in education and a specific content area (integrated science, language arts, mathematics or social studies).

The options for a cardinal are nearly limitless but, with the passionate support and encouragement from professors, students are better able to prepare for their career in Elementary Education.

为来自中国的学生设计 Applicants must currently be a junior or senior in high school (with or without college credits), or have graduated high school and have taken no college courses. We strongly recommend high school students take a rigorous college preparatory curriculum prior to enrolling at SVSU. The primary core includes: 4 years of English; 3 years of mathematics (through second year algebra); 3 years of natural sciences (at least two years of biology, chemistry, or physics); 3 years of social sciences; 2 years of the same foreign language. Minimum Language Requirements: Minimum GPA: 2.0; TOEFL- IBT: 61; IELTS: 5.5; PTE: 45.
