今天，我们昆山加拿大国际学校举行了IB集会，主题是——富有原则。此次集会重点是让学生认识到公平、正义和正直的重要性。富有原则意味着对自己的行为和后果负责，尊重他人。

Today we held our monthly IB assembly for the principled learner trait. This assembly focused on the importance for students to be fair, just, and to act with integrity. To be principled is to take responsibility for our actions and their consequences and respect others.

Farrell校长为大家致辞，讲解了IB品质以及富有原则这一品质是极其重要的。她勉励所有的学生都做出明智的选择，并承担起他们选择后的责任。她对学生们说到，即使我们每月学习一个不同的品质，我们仍应该把所有的品质都牢记心中。我们相信CISK的学生们都能做出对自己有益的选择，我们每天都能看到这些例子。

Our assembly began with Ms. Farrell, our school principal, introducing the trait and how being principled is extremely important. She urges all students to make good choices and accept responsibility for their decisions. She tells students that even though we learn about different traits each month we should always keep this trait at the forefront of our minds. We know CISK students are able to make good choices and we see examples of this everyday.

六年级的学生们负责将他们对于富有原则这一品质的调查展现给大家。在两位六年级学生的演讲过后，我们观看了学生制作的视频。视频展示了学生们在不同的学校情景中如何做出更好的选择，学生们举了很多关于“富有原则”的例子，甚至还邀请校长加入，向她展示尊重与公平的方法。他们做了演讲，还准备了海报来展示“富有原则”这一品质。感谢六年级的同学们为此次IB集会的付出!

The Grade 6 students were responsible for presenting their research on being principled. After a speech from two of our grade 6 students we were shown a video produced and written by the students. The video showed students in different school scenarios and how they could have made better choices. The students gave many examples of being principled and even enlisted the help of our school principal for ideas on how to show respect and be fair. They gave speeches about being principled and made posters to illustrate the trait. Thank you to grade 6 for their contribution to this assembly!

紧接着，我们邀请了学生会的两位成员和Newton老师向大家介绍了今年的圣诞募捐。今年，我们会为上海新生命之家(SHH)募集善款。SHH是一个非盈利寄养家庭，致力于协助中国当地的福利机构发展, 为需要进行手术矫正畸形的弃婴提供术前及术后看护。SHH不断努力为宝宝们营造家一般的成长环境, 在满足他们的物质需求的同时, 也尽力满足他们的情感需求、发展需求和社会需求。我们非常愿意为这个慈善机构募集善款，同时尝试参与他们的志愿者服务，为孩子提供我们力所能及的帮助。如果您想募捐，可以到学校前台捐款。

Following this, we welcomed two members of our student council and Ms. Newton to introduce our Christmas charity this year. This year we will be raising money for the Shanghai Healing Home. "SHH is a non-profit foster home assisting the local Chinese Children's Welfare Institutes by providing pre and post-surgical care to abandoned Chinese orphan babies born with surgically correctable deformities. SHH provides a home-like environment that meets our babies' physical, emotional and developmental needs." We are very excited to raise money for this great charity as well as possibly get involved in their volunteer opportunities and meet one of the children we are able to help.
