专业概况

在这里学什么？

Business Analytics (BA) refers to using technology to analyze, present and support decision-making from ‘big data’ held in organizational settings. It looks at the way businesses structure their information architecture, and the ways people and organizations use technology to improve their processes and workflows, and innovate their products or services. This course gives you the skills to analyze data, existing information systems, plan the introduction of commercial systems, and find solutions to common management problems (e.g. approaches to innovation) using business analytics software tools.

Business Analytics teaches you to use technology to capture and use digital information effectively in organizational settings. A business analytics professional focuses on applying technology and strategic decision-making to managing vast quantities of business' data. In this course you will focus on critically analyzing an organization’s information needs so that you can decide on the best business analytics software (e.g. business intelligence, predictive analytics and social media analytics tools) to apply to solve real-life business problems.

Course structure

To complete the Bachelor of Business Analytics, students must attain a total of 24 credit points. Most units (think of units as 'subjects') are equal to 1 credit point. Most students choose to study 4 units per trimester, and usually undertake 2 trimesters each year.

Work integrated learning is a core component of this degree. An 'Industry Campus' program facilitates formal engagement between students and employers. This program aims to ensure that every student has multiple touch points with employers of business analytics graduates and business analytics professionals during their degree to help students identify potential employers and understand the career outcomes available to them.

为来自中国的学生设计 Entry for applicants with previous Tertiary, VET, life or work experience will be based on their performance in: a Certificate IV in a related discipline OR a Diploma in any discipline or 50% completion of a Diploma in a related discipline OR successful completion of relevant study at an accredited higher education institution equivalent to at least two Deakin University units OR other evidence of academic capability judged to be equivalent for example relevant work or life experience.
