在这里学什么?The information explosion has affected almost all facets of life. And nowhere is it more critical than in health care. With the huge amount of information available to patients, health care practitioners and researchers, it can be very difficult to locate just the right information needed for making a decision or solving a problem.
That’s where health care informatics specialists and clinical informationist come in. Today there is a strong demand for these types of professionals who have advanced training in health care information systems.
With our coordinated MS Health Care Informatics/Master of Library and Information Science Program, you will learn how to search, sort and apply information in an efficient and practical way, and help provide cost-effective and high-quality care.
You’ll learn to master critical functions, such as such as systems analysis and design, database and project management, decision support and network design, so you’ll be prepared for many opportunities in this exciting and fast-growing field.
The Coordinated MS in HCI and MLIS Program will provide students with tangible competencies, including the ability to:
The Master of Science in Health Care Informatics (HCI) component of the Coordinated Program includes 29 credits spread over 9 content areas finishing with a thesis or project.
The Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS) component of the Coordinated Program includes 27 credits of School of Information Studies courses. These include 4 core courses (12 credits) and 5 electives (15 credits), chosen to complement the other courses in the Coordinated Program and in accordance with individual student goals.

为来自中国的学生设计 Applicants for admission to the UWM Graduate School must have the following: A baccalaureate degree or its equivalent as determined by the UWM Centre on International Education, from a regionally accredited institution, completed before the first term of enrolment in the Graduate School. Students applying to approved integrated bachelor’s/master’s programs are exempt from this requirement, A minimum cumulative undergraduate grade point average (GPA) of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale, or an equivalent measure on a grading system that does not use a 4.0 scale. TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) results with a minimum required score of 79 on the Internet-based TOEFL (IBT) and a minimum recommended sub-score of 18 in each skill).
