Overview

Our Regenerative Dentistry MSc offers you academic, practical and research teaching in the very latest developments in regenerative dentistry. Whether you are a dentist or a biological scientist, this course will enable you to learn more about advances in cell and molecule-based dentistry and gain experience in laboratory-based, cutting-edge research in dental stem cell biology.

Course detail

This course will give you a deep understanding of all aspects of regenerative dentistry, an emerging concept that challenges modern dentistry to step up dental research, translating into new clinical treatments. You will learn about dental stem cell culture, is and ES, tooth bioengineering, and the role of stem cells in tooth repair and regeneration. Research and practical elements include a research project, practical demonstrations of stem cell culture alongside critical evaluation of research methods and approaches in dental stem cell biology. Regenerative dentistry is for both dentists and biological scientists who desire to learn more about the latest advances in cell and molecule-based dentistry and also gain experience in carrying out laboratory-based, cutting-edge research in dental stem cell biology.

Teaching and assessment

Your performance will be assessed through a combination of coursework and written/practical examinations. Forms of assessment may typically include written and oral exams, reports, dissertations and coursework. Coursework, reports and dissertations contribute approximately 56%, written exams approximately 34% and oral (presentations) examinations approximately 10% to your final mark. We will use a delivery method that will ensure students have a rich, exciting experience from the start. Face to face teaching will be complemented and supported with innovative technology so that students also experience elements of digital learning and assessment.

After completing our MSc Programme, most of our students apply for a PhD positions at prestigious Universities all over the world, pursuing successful academic careers.
