Overview

Prepare for a new political and economic reality post-Brexit with the Double Masters in Policies and Governance in Europe. This integrated Double Master’s will provide you with an in-depth understanding of major political and economic developments in Europe, and of the analytical approaches developed to account for them. Opportunity to learn about policies, institutions, and governance structures in Europe from an interdisciplinary perspective spanning political science, law, and economics.

Course detail

The Double Masters in Policies & Governance in Europe (PAGE) will provide you with an in-depth understanding of major political and economic developments in Europe, and of the analytical approaches developed to account for them. You will study at two of the most highly ranked universities in Europe in the field of politics and international studies: Luiss, which has currently firmly established itself among the top-25 institutions in this field, and King’s College London, 15th in the world and 5th in Europe in the 2020 QS Elsevier Subject Ranking. Students enrolling in this programme will benefit greatly from this partnership, which will provide them with in-depth knowledge of policies and political economy of the European Union (EU) and European states, addressed from an interdisciplinary perspective combining political sciences, law, and economics. During the Double Masters, students will attend one year at King’s College London and one year at Luiss according to the list of courses agreed upon by both universities. Students may begin the programme either at Luiss, and then spend the second year at King’s (Track 1), or at King’s, and then spend the second year at Luiss (Track 2).

Teaching and assessment

You will have regular contact with our staff, who are world-leading experts in their fields, through lectures, seminars and supervision. We will use a delivery method that will ensure students have a rich, exciting experience from the start. Face to face teaching will be complemented and supported with innovative technology so that students also experience elements of digital learning and assessment.

Career prospects

Students undertaking this course would be ideally placed to work in both the public and the private sector. The former would include governments, international organisations, regulatory agencies, as well as ministries and local government authorities more directly dealing with European and EU-related matters. Private sector institutions would primarily include firms and interest groups that are active at the national, subnational, and EU level. In addition to this, graduates from this programme would also be well-placed to gain roles in journalism, consultancies, and think tanks focusing on politics, policies, and economics in Europe.
