专业概况

在这里学什么？

Our Economics BSc is taught by the Department of Political Economy and the Economics Group of King's Business School. It combines the detailed study of how individuals make decisions to address their needs and improve their lives with a practical examination of how institutional contexts and economic ideas impact the design of contemporary policy making. The course will develop your analytical and critical skills through modules in economic theory, statistics, maths and econometrics and apply these to evaluate public policies, study human behaviour and explain social phenomena.

• Offers a case-based approach to Economic Principles in year 1, developed by the CORE project to apply real world scenarios in the teaching of economics.

Course Aims

• Economics BSc will give you a thorough understanding of economic events and processes in a global context.
• You will learn to think critically and independently about the issues you encounter in your studies and develop a range of skills that will support your intellectual, vocational and personal development.
• After a first year that will give you a foundation in economics, you will be increasingly free to choose from a range of optional modules in your second and third years, allowing you to pursue your own academic interests.

Employability

It is a misconception that Economics is necessarily about finance, banking or business. A degree in Economics can be useful to everybody and can lead to many interesting and fulfilling careers in fields like big data analysis, law, journalism, government, or the non-profit sector.

Many of our graduates pursue further studies and have been admitted to postgraduate programmes at Cambridge, LSE, Oxford and UCL.
