Our MSc International Professional Accounting (ACCA) degree is directly aligned with the Strategic Level professional examinations of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) professional body. The course is a professional and practice based level 7 Masters and aims to provide you with enhanced employment prospects.

This is an ideal opportunity to combine your studies towards achieving a high quality Masters level degree award whilst also studying towards the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) Strategic Professional examinations.

The ACCA do not grant exemptions from their essential strategic professional papers but this course is designed to fully prepare to undertake these professional body exams. The successful completion of this Masters course does not provide you with the ACCA qualification; however, the course is designed to prepare you for the rigour of the external professional examinations.

Professional Placement option

For our International Professional Accounting degree, you will have the opportunity to take the Professional Placement version of the course, which is offered as an alternative to the standard version of the course. This will allow you to complete a credit bearing, 20 week Professional Placement as an integral part of your Master’s Degree. The purpose of the Professional Placement is to improve your employability and transferable skills. The placement experience will allow you to evidence your professional skills, attitudes and behaviours at the point of entry to the postgraduate job market. You will be responsible for finding and securing your own placement. The University, however, will draw on its extensive network of local, regional and national employers to support you in finding a suitable placement to complement your chosen area of study, with support from our Careers+ team as well as advice and guidance from your School.

Employability

The course is strategic, practice-led, and knowledge-applied. It will prepare and equip you for a career involving accounting, finance and/or management in commerce or not-for-profit sectors by relating your studies to the latest research led developments in business.

This course will adopt a highly practical orientation where the learning, teaching and assessment activities designed to enhance your professional knowledge and skills that can be applied directly in the workplace.

为来自中国的学生设计 Students need four year university degree with minimum 70% overall. They also need three year Dazhuan Diploma plus evidenced three years work experience - for Business School only. Some postgraduate courses require a subject specific undergraduate degree to qualify for entry for example, Law, Computing, Social Sciences, Engineering, etc. Some postgraduate courses also require a portfolio, others require a proposal of studies while some courses require both a portfolio and a proposal of studies. All undergraduate courses in the Computing, Engineering and the Built Environment (CEBE) faculty require Mathematics at O Level. However for the Engineering suite and BEng Telecommunication and Networks, Mathematics is required at AS Level minimum Grade C or the equivalent. All Business School undergraduate Year 1 courses require Mathematics minimum of Grade C at O Level or the equivalent. Students need to have an IELTS of 6.0 overall (with no band below 5.5).
