专业概况

The B.F.A. in ceramics is a professional undergraduate degree for students desiring extensive studio experience with an emphasis in ceramics. Students in the program develop critical thinking skills, refine their intellectual and creative processes, and learn both traditional and contemporary aspects of the ceramicist’s craft. The ceramics curriculum develops an understanding of ceramics as an expressive artistic medium in contemporary society. Students experience the variety of technologies used by contemporary artists. The program provides a solid foundation for students pursuing graduate studies or a studio art career and for students wanting to build on their creative training through further professional and/or academic experiences.

As a ceramics major, you may open your own business, collaborate with local artists on public art projects, or teach at community art centers. Your degree may even lead to museums, manufacturers, and design studios.

为来自中国的学生设计 Applicants must have completed or will complete secondary school by the time of enrollment; No grade point average guarantees admission to IUPUI. We look for applicants who have demonstrated a "B" average or above average grades, with strong grades in math and science. TOEFL (iBT) – 60; IELTS – 5.5; IUPUI Program for Intensive English (PIE) score of Level 5; GCSE or GCE O Level in English language score of Grades A-C; International Baccalaureate score of Higher Level English A1 or A2 Certificate, grade of 4 or higher; Freshman English Composition Course score of "C" grade or higher (equivalent to IUPUI W131) from a regionally accredited U.S. University.
