The non-thesis track of the Master of Science in biology is ideal for two types of students:

Those seeking to enhance their academic record in preparation for future Application to medical school or another professional healthcare graduate program such as veterinary school or physician assistant programs. If this describes your situation, you will also have access to our Pre-Professional Health Advising services. A Pre-Professional Advisor will help you become the most competitive applicant you can be by providing assistance with the Application process to medical/professional school and helping you find health-related volunteer and research opportunities Or Those seeking to advance their careers in a scientific profession where a doctorate is not required.

Thirty (30) credits beyond the Bachelor’s degree are required. Specific course requirements are listed below. Up to four (4) credits of Advanced Independent Studies (BIO SCI 899) and up to two (2) credits in Biology Colloquium (BIO SCI 900) can count toward the degree. Any remaining coursework may be completed in other departments within UWM with the approval of the student’s advisor and the Graduate Program Director.

为来自中国的学生设计 Applicants for admission to the UWM Graduate School must have the following: A baccalaureate degree or its equivalent as determined by the UWM Centre on International Education, from a regionally accredited institution, completed before the first term of enrolment in the Graduate School. Students applying to approved integrated bachelor’s/master’s programs are exempt from this requirement, A minimum cumulative undergraduate grade point average (GPA) of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale, or an equivalent measure on a grading system that does not use a 4.0 scale. TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) results with a minimum required score of 79 on the Internet-based TOEFL (IBT) and a minimum recommended sub-score of 18 in each skill). IELTS (International English Language Testing System) results with a minimum required score of 6.5, with minimum recommended sub-score of 6.0 in each skill.
