10月15日下午，上海宏润博源学校于礼堂为全校同学开设一场讲座，关于目标教育及升学指导，由苗茜楠老师主持，邱瑾女士主讲，副校长陈劲先生补充。同学们全神贯注地聆听，并不断与老师进行互动交流。

In the afternoon of October 15th , a lecture about target setting and college application counseling was given for all students in the auditorium of SHBS. Presided over by Helen Miao, this CAS event featured our school counselor Ms. Elizabeth Qiu and Vice Principal Chen Jin as the main speakers. The students listened attentively, and constantly interacted with the teachers.

邱老师丰富的升学指导经验以及深厚的中英文功底给同学们留下了深刻的印象。邱瑾老师是我们学校升学总指导，原“公立常青藤”北卡教堂山中国区代表，浸润在国际教育近20年。在体验营中，就曾给我们做了升学指导的讲座，生动有趣，富含人生哲理。想不到才一个多月，又要来给我们做升学指导了。同学们非常高兴。

Ms. Qiu, who has been working in international education for over 20 years, impressed the students deeply with her rich experience in college application counselling, proficient English, and Chinese wisdom. She used to be an admission officer of North Carolina Chapel Hill in China, and now she is the chief college application counselor of our school. During our summer orientation camp, she gave our students one lecture about college application, which was thought-provoking and interesting. The students were really happy to have her lecture again.

首先，她请两位同学“talent”、“genius”和“characterize” 三个单词中选出自己最喜欢的一个，由此引导大家对于个性的陈述。同学们踊跃发言，纷纷描绘关于自己及身边同学的“标签”：正义感、百科全书、个性特征、睿智等等。

To start with, she invited two students to choose their favorite words from “talent”,“genius” and “characterize”, then guided everyone to talk about their individualities.The students spoke enthusiastically and created many “tags” about themselves and their friends , such as : justice , knowledgeable , personality , intelligence and so on .

接着，邱瑾老师又让同学们陈述了自己对于不同“标签”的认识以及根据这些“标签”写出相关的职业。邱谨老师由浅入深的讲座让每位同学都清晰地认识到了如何在PS中展现独一无二的自己，如何在芸芸众生脱颖而出……

Then, all the students discussed their understandings of the different “tags” and wrote out the relevant careers according to the “tags”. Thanks to Ms. Qiu's speech, everyone clearly recognized how to show his/her uniqueness in the future PS and how to stand out from the crowd.

接下来为今天的又一重要环节——“目标教育”。

Then came the other part of this event: goal setting.

这个环节由陈劲副校长主持。他向同学们讲解了如何对自己和外部进行分析，然后据此进行升学目标设定，并将这个大的升学目标分解成每年的小目标，找出需要做的事情，可能面对的困难，以及采取的措施等等，从而形成自己的“计划书”。

Vice Principal Jin was in charge of this part. He explained to the students how to know better about themselves and the situation they are in, how to make plans based on these circumstances, how to divide your long-term dream university goal into a progressive step-by-step plan, how to analyze the possible difficuties and how to overcome them, so that the students can make their own "Dream University Plan."

下周开始，每位同学都将在P&B的时间，在行政班上就自己的计划向全班同学进行宣讲。每个班计划和宣讲表现优异的同学，还有机会向全校演讲展示自己的目标和计划。

Starting from next week, every student needs to present their plan in front of the class during the morning P&B time. Those students who stand out in this presentation will get a chance to present their plans in front of the school.

这次目标教育，直接的作用就是让同学们学习找目标，做计划，且对未来几年自己要做些什么更加明晰。而附加在这次活动上，并且很可能是更加重要的意义，正如陈副校长向同学们总结的那样：

Through this goal setting training, the student knew better about their future paths, but more importantly, this training can help the studdent in this way, as it was put by Jin:

“让其他人更加了解你”

"Let others know better about you."

“让你自己更加了解你自己”

"Let you know better about yourself."

本场目标教育活动让同学们更加清晰地看到自己的成长方向，进一步细化自己的目标，学习如何做计划，并逐步形成升学意识，完成并完善自己的升学计划和目标，向着美丽人生迈进!

These goal setting lectures enabled students to be more aware of their future direction, further refine their goals, learn how to make plans, and march towards a wonderdul life!
