初中课程设置

课程提供英语、数学、语文、科学、社会研习，以及音乐、体育、视觉艺术、表演艺术及品格发展课。其中英语、音乐、体育、表演艺术及视觉艺术为外籍教师全英文授课;数学、科学、社会研习及品格发展为中外籍教师协同授课;语文为中国教师授课。与国内传统中学不一样的是，耀华初中部的科学课从六年级就开始，所学习的内容涵盖了物理、化学及生物。

Lower Secondary Programme

YWIES Yantai’s Secondary programme is an integration of the essence of both the Eastern and Western practices. Chinese National Curriculum acts as the core and is enriched with the international curriculum. Therefore, it is a very comprehensive curriculum built upon the Chinese education which excels at providing solid academic knowledge, systemic learning and Western education with emphasis on critical thinking, creativity, teamwork and problem solving.

• Co-Teaching Model

Through Co-teaching by top professionals, YWIES Guangzhou is committed to the development of well-rounded individuals. We fully prepare our students to be competitive elites. Students of YWIES Guangzhou are able to proceed to IGCSE and A Level Programme.

• Cultural Enrichment Programme

Students experience a truly international, multicultural and bilingual learning environment at YWIES Guangzhou, where they are able to sharpen their linguistic skills in both English and Chinese, as well as deepening their understanding of and respect for cultural diversity and global awareness.

• Language Immersion Environment

With students coming from different backgrounds and with different language levels, YWIES Guangzhou offers the Intensive English programme to assist students with special needs on language learning or adapting to the new environment.

Curriculum of Lower Secondary

English, Music, Physical Education, Performing Arts and Visual Art will be taught by foreign teachers; Mathematics, Science, Social Studies and Character Development will be taught by both Chinese and foreign teachers as co-teaching; Chinese will be taught by Chinese teachers. Different from traditional Chinese school, Science Studies will be taught from the beginning of Grade 6. In this course, students will deepen their understanding of the major physical sciences, Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
