毕业生感言--Vency Huang

The moment I got my admission letter, I did not feel excitement that much. To me, the admission letter was a payoff rather than a surprising price, a payoff that I have waited for three years. Throughout the years in high school, from knowing nothing about application to submitting applications on my own, I have sure grown a lot and gained a lot. But passivelyaccepting knowledge will not help in the process

of application at all. One key element of getting an ideal application is that students should clearly know what they really want what they really hope to get. Some students did not even know where the school he/she applied for is, not even the name of the state. The route to get into a good university is hard. Students surely need parents’ help, but there is little that parents can do. It is the student that will go abroad for further education; it is the student that will have to face difficulties when he studies abroad. Let the student choose his/her own future. Standardized test scores are important. But it is more important to let the student fully involve in the process of application. Or even if the student manages to get in a high-ranked university, he/she still does not have the capability to finish his/her study there. Last piece of advice for future world leaders who are going to apply to universities later, DO NOT EVER THINK THERE IS A SHORTCUT. Remember to work hard, and more importantly, play hard :)
